Nominating Committee
Receives nominations for officers after January 1 of each year, and prepares a list of nominees for each office for presentation at the next regularly scheduled regional meeting following the call for nominations.
Membership Committee
Responsible for recruiting new members to NEFHIMA and educating the general public about the Health Information Management profession.
Program Committee
Organizes and schedules program and business meetings. The committee finds qualified speakers to present programs relevant to the medical record/health care professions and organizes educational seminars of special interest to the membership according to continuing educational guidelines provided by AHIMA. The committee also publicizes the programs and provides certificates of completion for each attendee.
Bylaws
This committee reviews and updates NEFHIMA By-Laws annually.
Technology
Works with local, state, and national members and vendors to explore the use of technology in health information, with a special aim to increase the participation and pursue networking opportunities for the members in order to stay abreast of changes in the profession and health care through the use of technology (i.e. webinars, website management, IT, teleconferencing, etc.).
Scholarship
Seels out, evaluates, and offers merit scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students pursuing degrees in health information administration and health information technology.
Advocacy and Legislation
Responsible for updating the membership of any new legislative changes from FHIMA and/or AHIMA.
