Rosalee Alston-Rivers, MSHCI, RHIA, CCS, is a Core Measure Specialist for UFHealth Shands Hospital. Rosa has 18 years of HIM experience, including analysis, ROI, identity merge, and coding. Currently, she abstracts core measure quality data for UF Health Psychiatric Hospital. Rosa received an M.S. degree in Health Care Informatics from the University of San Diego, a B.S. in Business Administration from City College, and an A.S. degree in Health Information Technology from Santa Fe College. Rosa is an active member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the Florida chapter, and FHIMA and currently serves as an advisory board member for Rasmussen College and Florida Gateway College
Rosa enjoys attending all conventions and the value of networking and meeting fellow HIM professionals. Also, she enjoys growing her knowledge and skillset in Health Information Management.
Kelly is a Compliance Specialist at UF Health Shands and has almost ten years of experience as a Health Information Professional. Before her role at UF Health, she served six (6) years as the Regional HIM (HIM and HIPAA Corporate Compliance) for Solaris Healthcare, overseeing HIM and Privacy functions for fifteen (15) Skilled Nursing, four (4) Assisted Living, and one (1) Outpatient Rehab center.
She began her Health Information education in 2013 at Santa Fe College’s HIIT program, becoming credentialed as an RHIT in the summer of 2015. Determined never to stop learning, she continues to obtain education and credentials, including the CCS in 2016, RHIA in 2018, CHPS in 2020, and HCCA’s Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) in 2022. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics from WGU, she obtained her Masters of Legal Studies at Washington College of Law in 2023, specializing in healthcare and cybersecurity compliance. Kelly has been an active volunteer, having served in many roles, including as a Commissioner for CCHIIM, Co-Chair of AHIMA’s LTPAC Council, FHIMA/NEFHIMA Advocacy/Legislative Committee Chair, and NEFHIMA President-Elect/President.
As an avid proponent of knowledge sharing, she served as editor/author for the FHIMA Regulatory Reference Guide, has given presentations to HIM Associations across the country, and authored two articles for HCCA’s Compliance Today magazine, appeared on a 2024 episode of HCCA/SCCE’s Compliance Perspectives Podcast, and continues to see new opportunities for authorship and professional growth
Geri Newman, BS, RHIA, CHTS-IM is a graduate of Santa Fe College where she received an AS in Health Information and Technology Management, a Healthcare Informatics Specialist certificate and a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Services Administration. She is currently finalizing a Master’s in Healthcare Informatics from the College of St. Scholastica. Geri has been an active member in association work starting with her involvement in the Health Information Student Association in 2010 and continuing on a journey that has seen her as a previous President of NEFHIMA and having served twice as a Director with FHIMA. Geri works at UF Health Shands in Gainesville as the Assistant Manger of Operations and Quality. Geri is very passionate about HIM operations, quality, data analysis, and technology. This takes second place to her love of her family – 4 children and 2 grandchildren – her husband, and her four fur babies.
Monica is the Health Information Technology (HIT) Program Director/Professor in the Division of Health Sciences at the Florida State College at Jacksonville, a position she has held since 2015. Monica is dedicated and efficient with more than 23 years in various aspects of health information management (HIM) including, higher education, supervision, medical billing and coding, compliance, quality management, operation management, project management. Medical documentation review with meticulous, diligence and excellent critical thinking. Productive with excellent multitasking and coordination abilities. She is highly active in community outreach activities and enjoys collaborating with senior citizens, mentoring her students, travelling, horseback riding and bowling.
Angela M. Hulvey holds as Associate in Science degree, RHIT, and CCA certifications from Santa Fe College.
She has been employed with UF Health Shands for 27 years serving in both patient care and in Health Information Management. She has an overall total of 32 years experience in healthcare. Currently working as a HIM EMR Clinical Analyst at UF Health Shands, Angela is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of patients’ information. She also has several years experience as a coordinator at UF Health Shands, in which she perfected her organizational skills and ensured everything was documented and complete. She is known for her positive attitude, adaptability, and compassionate approach.
Angela has several years of leadership experience. She currently serves on the FHIMA Professional Recognition/Scholarship committee. She served two years on the FHIMA Consumer Engagement committee.; one year as chair. In addition to her service with FHIMA, Angela served with the Health Information Student Association (HISA) at Santa Fe College for two years; the second year she served as president and served as NEFHIMA student liaison.
If I am elected Secretary, I will continue to support our members and the regions to encourage participation and growth. I look forward to the opportunity of serving our FHIMA members.

Secretary and Treasurer are two-year office terms.
Nominations are received by the Nominating Committee and anonymous votes are collected electronically in the last two months of the fiscal year.
NEFHIMA's current fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30.
