This committee shall be responsible for recruiting new members to NEFHIMA, providing support to members, and providing opportunities to educate others about the Health Information Management profession, and providing reports of activities of the committee.
This committee shall be responsible for providing information and support to regional members interested in coding issues and education to include sharing resources and educational opportunities in order to stay abreast of the latest changes in the coding profession.
This committee works with local, state, and national members and vendors to explore the use of technology in health information, with a special aim to increase the participation and pursue networking opportunities for the members in order to stay abreast of changes in the profession and health care through the use of technology (i.e. webinars, website management, IT, teleconferencing, etc.).
Represent NEFHIMA among students, act as a liaison between students and the Board of NEFHIMA, monitor and post NEFHIMA activities on social media, and participate in Board and Committee meetings.
This committee shall seek out ways to fund scholarship opportunities and shall offer merit scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students pursuing degrees in health information administration and health information technology that have at least one full semester (6+ hours) of classes remaining in their course of study at the time the award is granted.
This committee Chair serves as a regional liaison to the FHIMA Advocacy Committee. This committee shall be responsible for updating the membership of any new legislative changes from FHIMA and/or AHIMA, investigating and providing information to the membership on any active advocacy efforts relevant to the health information management profession. and provide updates on the efforts, the status, and the results of such advocacy efforts.
Receives nominations for officers after April 1 of each year, and prepares a list of qualified nominees for each open position. The committee will present a list of nominees at the next regularly scheduled meeting following the call for nominations. The Committee will conduct a private electronic vote and majority vote shall determine winning officers.
